California Dreaming
My painting is an escape into another world free of the clutter and distraction yet embracing the beauty and intrigue in the modern world in which we live. Although the subject matter jumps from people to objects and architecture it is the post industrial world that is my focus and the nostalgia through the eyes of the American cultural influence that growing up a child of the TV generation produced. Shaped by 4 years at art school, a love of street art in my teens and years of travelling North America, what you will find at the end of my brush is familiar world of the rusting, decaying and changing modern landscape and its inhabitants, and the love for an aesthetic that embraces and highlights the beauty in that decay and aging which is often missed.
